If you’ve been following along with our DIY video series with Moving With the Military, then you’ve likely seen tips and tricks for re-vamping your space on a budget. The next video shows you how to create a DIY nursery without spending a fortune. Use these simple tips for creating a cozy, stylish nursery at home with Lincoln Military Housing.
–Layer area rugs. Instead of buying one large rug, buy two smaller, more affordable rugs and layer them on top of one another to fill the room. This also creates a pop of color and texture that’s really unique.
–Add colorful curtains. Choose curtains that are longer than your windows, then hang them high to create the illusion of taller ceilings. Don’t be afraid to mix prints and colors!
–Re-use furniture from other areas. Some baby items are important to buy new, but for others, you can re-use furniture pieces from other areas of your home. In this video, we’ll show you how to create a DIY changing table using a low, wooden cart that was once a coffee cart!
–Create a pegboard organizer. Keep changing supplies organized by creating a DIY pegboard organizer for over the changing table. Simple paint a pegboard, add baskets or shelves and fill them with all of your essentials.
–Make your own mobile. This video will also show you how to use embroidery hoops, felt and yarn to create your own mobile for over the crib. By making it yourself, you can coordinate it with the rest of the room’s theme.
