What You Need to Know About Applying to Military Housing

Whether you're considering applying for military housing or you know someone who is, there are a lot of ways to get organized before you begin the process. Here at Lincoln Military, we're making it easy with a list of the perks, the essentials and the things you'll need to know in order to apply.

  • Here are just a few of the perks of living in military housing:
    • No credit checks
    • No deposits
    • Free 24-hour maintenance
    • Roadside assistance
    • Courtesy patrols
    • Free internet in community spaces
    • Household alarm systems
    • Access to recreation centers, gyms and pools
    • Ongoing community events
  • In order to apply, you'll need these essential documents:
    • Housing application cover sheet
    • Housing application form, DD1746
    • Current orders
    • Copy of your page 2, DD93, or DD1172 (Army)
    • Government issued ID for all applicants over 18
  • In some cases, you may also need:
    • DA 31 (Army)
    • Live-in aid approval by the HA
    • Power of Attorney
    • Exceptional Family Member paperwork
    • Medical pregnancy statement supplied by a physician
    • Proof of legal child custody (final decree documents) specifically stating that you are entitled to custody for at least 6 consecutive months a year
