Do Something Daring for the Environment Near Indian Head at the Polar Bear Plunge 2016
January 15, 2016
Climate change is one of the biggest social issues facing our world today, and if you want to do your part to raise awareness near Indian Head, take part in National Harbor’s Polar Bear Plunge 2016. Returning for its 11th year, this annual event aims to “Keep Winter Cold” by raising funds for the Chesapeake Climate Action Network. It does so by enlisting environmentally conscious residents to jump into the icy Potomac River and by encouraging their friends, family members, and coworkers to sponsor their daring plunges. The result is a silly day of family fun that benefits a good cause.
To take part in the Polar Bear Plunge, you can either pledge to plunge yourself or sponsor the brave residents making the freezing-cold jump. The event will take place on Jan. 23 at the National Plaza, and there will be lots of opportunities to donate online or on the big day!
