Getting Covered in Head-to-Toe Mud Supports a Good Cause During the LoziLu Mud Run DC, Taking Place Not Too Far From Indian Head
July 12, 2015
You're used to getting sweaty after a workout, but it's probably rare that you return home to Indian Head covered in mud from head to toe. That's exactly what'll go down during this year's LoziLu Mud Run DC, taking place on July 18 at the Frederick Fairgrounds!
This female-oriented "filthy 5K festival" invites athletes of all abilities to tackle its muddy, messy, slippery, and super-fun obstacle course. There are 15 obstacles to overcome during the course (all of which are optional), from fences, walls, and tires to ropes, giant slides, and, of course, sloshy mud puddles. Adding to the fun run's upbeat, party-like vibe, live music pumps through the course, and participants are encouraged to dress in wacky costumes. In fact, prizes will be awarded for best-dressed racers! What's more, an after-party awaits at the finish line!
Participants are released onto the course in 15-minute waves, with the first wave leaving the starting line at 9 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online, and a portion of the event's proceeds support childhood cancer research. Note that parking is $12 per vehicle, so carpool if you can!
